Non-Permanent Employment – 3 year fixed term contract
Qualifications and experience required:
  • The position requires a minimum of a B.Eng. / BSc. Degree with limited or no practical experience or, will obtain a B.Eng. / BSc. Degree by the end of 2017.
For Sasolburg Operations, preference will be given to candidates residing in the Vaal and surrounding areas, or with direct family members in the Vaal and surrounding areas.
Purpose of Job /Role Intent:

  • Continuously improve on knowledge relating to your field of work.
  • Gather information from various sources.
Core Elements of Job:
  • The graduate development program is based on a three year development plan. The advert is based on the requirements for the 1st year only with different requirements for each of the following years.
  • It is intended that the Graduate focus on the following main elements in order to build skills within operations:
    • Business Awareness,
    • Plant Processes,
    • Monitoring, Assessment and Optimisation of plant units, and
    • Operational Safety.
Within this training period the EIT will have an opportunity to be assessed after every 6 months to demonstrate competencies developed and highlight areas which require focus and at the end of the 36 month period in order to be declared competent. After being declared competent at the end of the 36 month period, you will become eligible to apply for vacant Engineer gr.I positions. (Subject to availability of vacancies).
Rotation to the plant operations for 4-6 weeks of shift work. The structure of the period can be determined by the line manager, either a full shift cycle or only morning shift (therefore getting exposed to various shift groups).
